I love finding all these trivial oddities, so here is a collection of interesting but usless trivial facts, unusual information and otherwise extraordinary bits of knowledge.
Every clock in Pulp Fiction shows 4.20 pm.
It's estimated that at any one time, around 0.7% of the worlds population is drunk.
Only 3% of the worlds water is fresh (the rest being salty) and of that only 0.3% is available for us to use/drink.
Windmills always turn counter-clockwise, except for the windmills in Ireland.
Every time you sneeze some of your brain cells die.
Your stomach produces a new layer of mucus every two weeks so that it doesn't digest itself.
Taphephobia is the fear of being buried alive.
A female ferret will die if it goes into heat and cannot find a mate.
Sound travels 15 times faster through steel than through the air.
And lastly, here's the perfect excuse to do it because everyone else is...... every second, Americans collectively eat one hundred pounds of chocolate.
Anyone for a Snickers bar?
This info thanks to a local real estate news letter.

Great woodcarving pocket knife video
Hey guys, I just found this you tube video on how to choose a good pocket-knife for wood carving. I thought it was a perfect match for my getpocketknives.com store so I've attempted to upload it here for you to watch. This will be the fist time I've added a video into my blog so fingers crossed it works.
Watch and enjoy

There is somebody out there
Hey guys, as I said in my blog intro, I'm quite new to the internet, so building a website is kind of a big deal for me and I'm also very new to blogging. So when I find that a couple of people have commented on my previous blog postings [one about my new getpocketkinves.com store and the other about some humorous thoughts] wow that's great that somebody's actually reading what I've written. I would like to respond to these guys if they have blogs of their own but I don't know how to connect to them, If anyone knows how maybe you could let me know, I'm really loving this whole internet community thing, I wish I'd jumped in sooner.
Well that's all for now

A Leatherman multitool store
Well I've done it again. I've put another store called leathermansale.com up on the net. This one is focused totally on tools from the Leatherman multi-tool company. You will be able to access all of the Leatherman multi tool range from the key chain models to the pocket models to the full size range. that means every thing from the squirt, micra, freestyle, and juice to the kick, fuse, blast, wave and surge. And not to forget the core, crunch, charge, skeletool and last but not least the super tool 300. You'll also be able to access Leatherman's knife and flashlight range. Each model has its own page with a full description of the manufactured materials, the on board tools, available color combinations and weight etc. Man that took a lot of setting up, sourcing and collating all that info but hopefully it will make a great site that you'll want to visit . So again the site is called www.leathermansale.com and we have multi-tool auctions, there are videos about the Leatherman multi-tools and both new and second hand tools can be aquired plus theres a ton of info, so please check out my new store at www.leathermansale.com, tell me what you think and maybe do some shopping as well

Knives and the Law
As the owner of the getpocketknives.com website I am very happy to pass on this information concerning the legality of pocket knives / folding knives. This is an email I received just recently concerning the passing of legislation to allow possesion of pocketknives / folding knives. It comes from the American Knife & Tool Institute.
[Dear member
It's Law! The President signed the Homeland Security Appropriations Bill (H.R. 2892) for FY 2010 late yesterday (Oct. 28, 2009) that includes a permanent "fix" so that any folding knife with a bias toward closure cannot be declared a switchblade by U.S. Customs.
The significance of the legislative victory that was led by AKTI and supported by several other organizations cannot be overstated. If U.S. Customs had succeeded in broadly redefining a switchblade, domestic manufacturers and all owners of folding knives would have been in jeopardy. That's because an import restriction becomes an issue for interstate commerce. And where local law enforcement might be uncertain about how to correctly apply their state law, they often turn to U.S. Customs to provide guidance.
However, knife owners should realize that they are still bound by the knife laws of their state. And if you travel to another state, you are bound by their state laws.
AKTI continues to monitor federal and state laws and to work to protect knife rights for all, introducing reasonable and responsible changes.
Sincerely,
Goldie Russell
AKTI President

For anyone interested in owning/using/collecting of pocket knives and folding knives this is really great news. Visit getpocketknives.com for more detailed information on knives and the law.

More thoughts
I tried making the title of the last post a link to my new website www.getpocketknives.com but it didn't work. That is, the heading is a link, but it goes nowhere, so I'll have to work at that one a bit more. Has anyone got any ideas?
Meanwhile, a couple more thoughts have crossed my way so I thought I'd share them with you:
Don't take life too seriously; no one gets out alive.
Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.
A fine is a tax for doing wrong, and a tax is a fine for doing well.
Light travels faster than sound, that's why some people appear bright until they open their mouths.
Did you ever stop to think ....... and forget to start again.
The gene pool could use a little chlorine.
Procrastinate NOW!
Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
The shin bone is a device used for finding furniture in the dark.
And finally a really internet appropriate one....
A picture is worth a thousand words, but it uses up three thousand times the memory.

my new pocket knife store
Well I've done it again. I've built another website Estore. It's called www.getpocketknives.com.
This one was interesting because I've put in a lot of information on pocket-knives, like how to sharpen a pocket knife, what the law says about pocket knives, even about the different types of pocketknife blades and their construction and use.
There's also a really good you tube video on the front page explaining the difference between a quality pocket knife and an el-cheapo pocketknife. Of course if you click on the videos link on the top of the page it takes you to stacks of other videos relating to pocket-knives, from reviews to how-to's to caring for your pocket-knife.
There is also a page with a whole list of pocket knife manufactures with links to all their websites for even more information.
So if you're at all interested in pocket knives I'd say get along to www.gwtpocketknives.com and check out my store. and hey give me some feedback on what you like about my store and what else you'd like to see.
chow for now Joe
p.s. I tried to provide a link to www.getpocketknives.com in the heading but not sure if it worked , I'll post this then take a look
